Personal Narratives
Students will be learning how to create a clear beginning, middle, and end to our story. We will learn to include the thoughts, feelings, and actions of our characters. We will include dialogue and descriptive language that SHOWS not tells how characters are feeling. Students will learn about transition words that help "glue" stories together, how to begin a story with a lead that catches their reader's attention, and how to end stories through resolutions or feelings.
Our new curriculum is enVision math. Topics 1-6 are all about multiplication. There will be online assignments as well as online assessments. Click below to be taken to pearsonrealize.com.

Welcome to Writing & Math with Mrs. Pratt!
We're going to have a great year in Writing and Math! In writing we will begin our year with personal narratives, followed by non-fiction expert and research pieces, then we'll dive into opinion, we'll finish up the year with fairy tales (another narrative) and poetry! In math we are going to be learning about multiplication & division, attributes of 2-dimensional objects, fractions, addition & subtraction, and more!
